Practicing Mantra Meditation
Sit comfortably with a straight spine. Take a few deep breaths and settle your body. Begin to repeat the mantra, either silently or intoning it out loud. Repeat it in rhythm with your breathing for 108 counts. If you drift into thoughts, gently bring your focus back to the sound.
According to the Vedic scriptures, our bodies - physical and subtle - contain 72,000 energy channels, which are called Nadis'. There are 108 major nadis that meet in the 'sacred heart'. By chanting a mantra 108 times the energy permeates the entire body and energy body.
Experiment as you prepare food today with chanting this mantra, holding the intention that the food you are preparing will be filled with healing vibrations.
