Spirit Weavers Gathering / June 2016
I am honored to return for my third year as a teacher at Spirit Weavers Gathering for the Sun Session / June 2-6, 2016 and Moon Session / June 9-13, 2016. This year I am excited to offer three ceremonial classes: Pachamama Despacho Ceremony, Rite of the Womb Ceremony and Soul Retrieval Ceremony. Please explore the ceremony descriptions below and tune in on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10 am PST to register.
"Spirit Weavers Gathering is a five day celebration of cultures past, a remembering and practicing of basic human skills to ensure the survival of the body and the soul. Fermenting foods, weaving, dying fabrics, creating ceremony, sharing meals at night and dreams in the morning, drinking tea, and making plant medicines- singing songs, together as a community- these were the common knowledge ways and part of the simple pleasures of a life lived in balance and harmony with nature. Let us gather together as Women and share our skills in remembrance of the beauty path and an honoring of our Ancestors."
Come together in sacred space to commune directly with the forces of nature through the Andean ceremony of the Q’eros, the despacho. As a family we will prepare a ceremonial offering to honor Pachamama, our Earth Mother. In the despacho, a wide variety of symbolic elements (such as sweets, grains, seeds, flowers, herbs, shells) are intricately arranged on white paper. The bundle is infused with sami (light, refined energy) by using the breath to empower each element with specific prayers/intentions. The elements are placed in the shape of a mandala with intention and care. The offering is then bundled up, tied with string and used to cleanse the subtle energy body of each being in ceremony. The bundle is run over the physical body (from head to toe) with the intention to cleanse the body of hucha (heavy, dense energy) and infuse the body with the healing vibrations of the offering. In closing, we will ceremonially bury our bundle beneath the Earth’s surface at Camp Navarro. Q’ero elder Don Manuel Q’espi explains, “The despacho is a gift – a giving back of what we receive everyday in our lives. We seek, through the despacho ceremony, to bridge the ordinary and non-ordinary realms; to establish new patterns of relationship and possibility. The despacho places us in right relationship, right ayni, with the Pachamama.” Maggie has received the blessings and initiations to share Despacho Ceremony through the Q'ero Lineage and by her teacher of the Andean Mystical Tradition, Juan Nunez del Prado.
Join us as we lay with our Cosmic Mother in ceremony and receive the transmission of the Rite of the Womb, an energetic healing for your sacred temple within. This rite moves us into right relationship with our ancestors (the feminine lineage that is at our root) and honors our future generations (the blossoms of light we are birthing). The ceremony is an individual healing and celebration of our feminine essence. We connect with our ancestors to bring awareness and liberation from the past with the support of the drum, healing smoke of various herbs, flower blossoms, fire and sacred waters. We give gratitude to the lineage of the Shipibo medicine women of the Amazonia where this rite was birthed. Following the ceremony, we will discuss how to nurture the rite during the moon cycle and explore our inner garden through a guided shamanic journey. We will close ceremony with a native chant to open the “eye” of our throat center which stimulates the flow of vital force through our womb. Ceremony is also open to young women age 13+. An intimate circle of six women representing the six directions: South (Serpent), West (Puma), North (Hummingbird), East (Condor), Below (Mother Earth) and Above (Father Cosmos). This ceremonial class is for those who feel called to open into the deep healing of their soul. Join us as we learn about the native ceremony of soul retrieval and remember our birthright. Each being will receive an individual soul retrieval and together we will support one another in community, as a soul family, coming home to the truth and divine essence that lives within us. Soul retrieval is an individual ceremony to call back soul pieces that have left us and traveled to Pachamama for protection. It is believed that when we suffer shock from an emotional or physical trauma a part of our soul, our life force, flees the body in order to survive the experience. This ceremony is for individuals who seek to live in wholeness and spiritual harmony. As my teacher Don Americo Yabar explains, “Your Animu – your essential energy, your soul – sometimes comes out like a little bird, and the shaman goes after that little bird and grabs it and brings it back.” Maggie has received the blessings and teachings to share Soul Retrieval Ceremony by Sandra Ingerman.
