Grounding with Pachamama
Being grounded means being present in your life. Your energy is firmly rooted in Mother Earth, Pachamama. You feel a sense of support, connection, strength, and balance. The Earth carries with it energy that nourishes your energetic body.
We often tend to be off the ground - while transporting from place to place or simply with our head in the cosmos. Here are a few practices that will connect you with Pachamama:
WALK BAREFOOT ON THE EARTH - at the ocean, in the forrest, or in your backyard.
CONNECT WITH NATURE - observe a flower, a leaf, a raindrop, an animal. They will all bring you into the present moment.
TREE SPIRITS - trees are very powerfully rooted to the Earth and offer a beautiful presence. Sit next to a tree during meditation, study its bark, its colors, its message.
PREPARE GROUNDING FOODS - any vegetable grown under the Earth contains grounding energies. Autumn is a beautiful time to experiment with this as root vegetables are plentiful - try beets, carrots, sweet potatoes, turnips, ginger, garlic, etc.
MEDITATE IN NATURE - it is beautiful to take some time and sit on the Earth and simply open yourself to the sounds, smells, and feelings all around you. If it feels right for you, standing up, visualize roots extending from your feet deep into the Earth, breathe out any emotions that are low vibrating and no longer serving you, and breathe in the restoring, nurturing energy of Mother Earth.
TOUCH THE EARTH - using your hands in gardening and working with soil allows the grounding energies to enter through your fingertips.
