My path to healing began as a small child, faced with the trauma of abuse. Fast forward to me in my early twenties, a time when my physical body presented with dis-ease. Unable to accept the state my body was in, I followed my intuition and set out looking for truth.
I reached a state of suffering so great that through this shadow I felt an opening. I became able to access the part of myself that is, all knowing, and this began to guide me and my movements. I soon after visited the Paracelsus Klinik in Switzerland where they practice Biological Medicine and through natural therapies and plant-based nourishment I was able to bring my body back into balance. During my time on these sacred lands, I became aware of a soul connection through nature and photography, which presented a way for me to calm my mind, like meditation, and through color and imagery heal and express parts of my soul that had previously been suppressed.
It wasn't long after when I was shown through my dreams, childhood and past-life trauma. This suffering I endured, I had blocked from my conscious mind. I knew intuitively this was the root cause of my imbalanced state of being. The connection was profound for me and so, I began working with healers, traveling and practicing meditation and energy healing. Through these healing practices I was able to shift the energy causing my physical and emotional suffering. This is when complete (mind, body, spirit) healing began.
I am particularly grateful to Dona Juana, a Q'ero shaman from the high Andes Mountain in Peru who performed a Khyua healing on me. This, along with a Despacho ceremony with her husband, brought on a period of deep healing, awakening and transformation.
In one of my first shamanic journeys I traveled to meet my ancestors. It was in this journey that the spirits of my Grandmothers came forward and confirmed my path and the essence of my soul, which they called Puakai. The name Puakai means Ocean Flower and it represents the gifts I was born with, the healing powers of the flower (earth) and ocean (water).
Through my journey I re-aligned with my soul and purpose in this lifetime - To walk the path of a Curandera, a medicine woman, an extension of the feminine wisdom of Mother Earth - sharing with others the power they hold inside themselves to heal and transform. To support beings to come into alignment with their authentic self, not as who they have been in the past but who they are becoming, and awaken to their divine work on the Earth plane.
