An antique, handwoven Mesa cloth by a woman in a remote village near Vinicunca in Peru. Vinicunca, also called Rainbow Mountain or Mountain of Seven Colors "Montaña de Siete Colores" is a sacred peak in the Andes of Peru with an altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level. The mountain itself can only be accessed by horse or by foot. This cloth was woven with plant dyed alpaca and sheep fibers in a traditional stripped pattern and honoring the essence of Chaska, the stars. For use as a Mesa altar cloth. This cloth shows signs of wear as it is antique and was used in ceremony or during spiritual practices. May be hand washed.
